Just link your computer to the MX400 with a USB cable and control all automation and recall parameters exactly as you would with any software plug-in. You get the instant control of a plug-in effect, and the warm, complex depth that only a dedicated Lexicon processor can provide. Equally at home for live applications, the MX400 supplies the live sound engineer intuitive front panel control with a backlit LCD screen to display parameters. Once a program has been selected, you have instant access to three parameter knobs — instead of having to page through extra menus. You can program a whole night of presets, and dial them up quickly with the dedicated program select knob. A single rack space, 4-input / 4-output processor, the MX400 offers unprecedented connectivity through ¼” TRS balanced I/O. The MX400 boasts a full arsenal of voice and instrument-enhancing effects including 17 Lexicon reverbs, 7 delays, genuine dbx compression and de-essing, and 8 modulated effects that will make any performance sound better. You can store and recall custom programs or pull up your choice of 223 genuine Lexicon presets including 25 dedicated Surround Programs. Two reverbs or effects can be used at once in one of 7 flexible routing configurations and you can switch effect routings automatically via the front panel controls. Sink "Jimsi777" (Newport News, Virginia 23602) - See all my reviews    This review is from: Lexicon MX400 Dual Stereo/Surround Reverb/Effects Processor (Electronics) mx400 is clean sounding with no noise and no coloration effects processor in effect there are two stereo processors in one with a mp3player styled menu controlling the 4 ins and 4 outs (dual stereo-to-4 mono processors)routing.I owned some Alesis reverbs that colored the sound so much as I didnt know a clean no colored sound until now at home ... the compressor thats built in actualy works nicely as well... some neat effects that can be tweeked to be used...great for a computer studio used as a vst/usb sends and receives with the right sound card. Dont think im kidding, this is a clean sounding reverb, chorus flanger compresion echo pong processor unit as well as noise free 109db s/n ratio!!!! I was running it as a VST/AU inside ableton, with digital sends going in/out of ableton/ my sound card.By the way, I just loved it when I'd type "SLAP MY BITCH" into the computer VST when prompted to "save reverb program" and it would print out on the Lexicon LCD screen! Well, after a few weeks, I really started wondering where was that BIG SOUND?? Maybe I missed some presets or something....no....actually all the presets sounded the same, like a cheap dirty tin can. I can only think that MX400 uses one reverb algorithm, not 17 (and a cheezy one at that!):HALL, ROOM, GATE....all the same dang tinny mcdonalds restroom sound).
